These days women power is the buzz word. The entire society has become aware of women power. There are shows dedicated to women, there are special shopping festivals only for women, there are talks and debates on ways to increase women participation in all spheres of life; be it corporate or political. All of this is good but the most important of all is nutrition for women. For the modern women who have to shuffle between roles and duties her top priority is herself and to start it is the right nutrition that matters the most.

A woman’s body goes through various transition phases. There are changes in the body when she becomes a teenager and attains puberty, when she gives birth to a baby and breastfeeds her child, when she ages and has menopause. To meet all the demands of good nutrition and a little exercise is must.

A few steps listed below can be followed keeping in mind the nutrition for women that are right and convenient.

•    Start you day on a power note- women work through the day and it is important that the day starts on a healthy note. Ditch your morning cup of tea or coffee for a fruit. Eat within twenty minutes of waking up to increase the metabolism and then have your breakfast.  It is also important to take eight hours of sleep on a regular basis. You can have a banana or any other seasonal fruit that is easily available. Meals should be small in portion size but at regular intervals.

•    Clarified butter is good- It is a myth that it makes you fat. No it is loaded with health benefits. It lowers cholesterol and adds that pink glow to your face.
•    Yes to cheese and milk- Cheese is good for health as it strengthens the bones in the body. These days women as young as thirty develop osteoporosis hence maintaining a healthy diet is essential. Milk must be taken by women on a daily basis. You must take hot milk and can add a strand of saffron for added benefits.

•    Nuts and fresh fruits- Dry fruits provides very important nutrition for women. Make sure to soak them overnight in water and have them. It can also be taken as a snack. Packed with nutrition they are also yummy to eat. Two fruits can be consumed daily by women and it will not make them fat. They are loaded with nutrition and provide sugar as well. Avoid taking them directly after meals or with meals. You can take them after two hours.

•    Vitamin pills- It is great to take supplements. Multi vitamin pills are available at all leading medicine stores and on the internet. Make sure they meet the safety standards and do not have steroids in them. Vitamin C tablets can be taken. Multivitamins also help skin, hair and nails. Vitamin B regulates the hormone production and ensures secretion. It is advisable to have a supplement that has the entire Vitamin B Complex and also Vitamin B12 in case if the blood test reveals low levels. Vitamin B can be found in nuts, pulses, leafy vegetables, fish and pulses. Vitamin D can be found in orange juice and yogurt. The best source of Vitamin D is early morning sunshine rays. So put on your sneakers and go for a walk.

•    Have rock salt more often- You can trade your synthetic salt and have rock salt as it maintains blood pressure, insulin level in the body and is considered healthier.

•    Avoid packed foods- you must avoid packed foods and juices as far as possible because these contain preservatives which have harmful effect on the long run. Packed foods also make you look older. These are convenient to buy and but are linked to obesity and diabetes. Instead buy fresh from the market, cook at home and eat. This a sure shot away to good health.

Right nutrition for women and a healthy lifestyle are correlated. These two combined together can go a long way in maintaining optimum health and keeping various health problems under check. Make sure to do weight training and physical workout at least three times a week and meditate as often as possible as it has calming effect on the mind. Always consults the doctor before doing any activity or taking any supplement.
